The Savage Hearts is a rising bluegrass-meets-honky-tonk band on Colorado’s musically innovative Front Range. Featuring string pedagogue Annie Savage (fiddle/vocals) along with Colorado Bluegrass Music Society president songwriter/educator Kevin Slick (lead guitar), Canadian songbird Tracy Lynn (guitar/vocals), nationally acclaimed vocalist Jodi Harbin (mandolin/bass/vocals), fiddle prodigy Jackson Earles (twin fiddle) and bass man with the boogie Keith Summers (bass/banjo), this Southwestern Bluegrass band specializes in high energy performances and has a passion for providing educational outreach. Drop in musicians have included Jeff Scroggins, Greg Blake, Ellie Hakanson, Nancy Steinberger, Bianca Bentz and a host of top shelf-musicians who add to the band’s drill-it-to-the-wall female harmonies and twin fiddle sound.

Members of The Savage Hearts have recorded, performed and produced more than 30 albums. Upon release of their debut album, “Playing it Forward” they took the #1 slot on the International Folk DJ charts in the fall of 2016 and remained in the Top 5 of the Roots Music Report for the bluegrass genre for 6 consecutive months. The group’s influences range from the Bluegrass Album Band, Hot Rize, and the Quebe Sisters, to the twin fiddling of Bobby Hicks and Kenny Baker, and includes the smoldering vocal stylings of Patsy Cline and assorted other Route 66-bound cowgirls.

It’s all twin fiddles and female vocals, with an explosive mix of Bluegrass, Western Swing and Honky Tonk. It is a sound all its own, a kind of retro fabulous grassy blend of classic country with a powerful hit of Sriracha-inspired, Latin-flavored instrumentation, peppered with engaging stage banter and surprising dance-ability.

The Savage Hearts are honored to showcase at this year’s IBMA Bluegrass Ramble and look forward to bringing their spicy blend of Southwestern Bluegrass to your festival and workshop stage.
