WORLD FIDDLE MODULE: Lesson 2

Lesson 2 – Variations on a Theme

Jump at the Sun can be used in the same way that we used Lesson 1, with only open strings covering all the notes that form the roots of the chords. (Root of G=g, root of A=a, root of D=d, etc.) After you get that down, use the triplet motif that appears in measures 1-2 and 5-6 as a springboard for creating a slight rhythmic variation. Add or take away one note in this motif!

“Annie and The Savage Hearts did a fabulous job of engaging students from all ages of our string feeder area elementary through high school. The students and audience members loved the band’s performance and the high energy they brought to our concert! The students had so much fun learning new songs by rote and the pieces were well-arranged for a variety of levels of playing.”
