WORLD FIDDLE MODULE: Lesson 6

Lesson 6 – Now You See Me Now You Don’t

El Hambo Emborrachado is a tasty tune that will really use all those ARPEGGIOS you have been practicing. What’s that you say? Not familiar with an arpeggio? Why, it is a merely a chord played up and down multiple octaves fair string player! SO…in the B part of this, we want you to consider playing the chord but…in a different order. For example, in measure 1 of the B part, play D-A-F, D-A-F instead of the A-F-D A-F-D. Now move the other chords to new positions as well! (Are you starting to see why scales and arpeggios are useful to practice? (They are tiny parts of LOTS of songs!)

“Annie and The Savage Hearts did a fabulous job of engaging students from all ages of our string feeder area elementary through high school. The students and audience members loved the band’s performance and the high energy they brought to our concert! The students had so much fun learning new songs by rote and the pieces were well-arranged for a variety of levels of playing.”
